Graham Cooper

Graham works with RSLs to help them to resolve housing management and anti-social behaviour issues quickly and effectively.

Over the last seventeen years many clients have enjoyed Graham's practical approach and his ability to deliver straight-forward explanations of technical legal issues.

Graham advises clients on:

  • proceedings for possession on grounds of nuisance and breach of tenancy or licence

  • injunctions

  • proceedings to demote assured or secure tenancies

  • Anti-Social Behaviour Orders

  • abandoned properties, squatters and unlawful occupation

  • Judicial Review

In addition to being an experienced advocate in the County Court, High Court and Magistrates Court, Graham sits as a Chairman of the Appeals Tribunal, hearing appeals in relation to social security, housing and Council Tax benefits.

Graham has also worked extensively with the Citizens Advice Bureau in the region. As a result, he has a clear understanding of many of the issues that impact on the housing management strategies employed by RSLs.

Graham is an experienced presenter, contributing to a BBC documentary made in relation to a case that he pursued which challenged in the High Court the granting of Government licences. He has also appeared on Channel 4 news, BBC TV’s Watchdog, BBC Look East and ITV's Calendar News. He has also featured on BBC Radio Norfolk and local radio and has had numerous cases reported in the local and national press.
