Shelagh is a Director of Greenwoods Solicitors LLP and up until May 2009 spent eleven years as the firm's Managing Partner/Director. 

 

 

She has now passed on that baton to fellow Director Robert Dillarstone who is assisted in that role by two senior management professionals, Chief Operating Officer David Snodgrass and Business Development Director Sara Blackwell.

Having specialised in Company Commercial Law for the past 22 years, Shelagh now relishes the challenge of developing the firm's private client offer.  She has a wealth of clients and contacts arising from her corporate work who have private needs too and it is to this group that she will give her attention, advising on lifetime giving, protection of assets and succession planning through bespoke Wills and Trusts. Shelagh will also continue to support and advise those in the 'not for profit' third sector who now operate in an increasingly commercial environment.

Additionally, she sits as a director on the boards of two charities as well as one of the regional screen agencies set up by the Government.

Shelagh has spoken at conferences throughout the region, in London and in Europe, and run seminars on a variety topics including more recently, taking control of your assets and succession, contract s, Directors Duties,  Governance in Charities, conflicts of interest.

Prior to becoming a lawyer Shelagh worked as a writer and theatre director and has maintained a strong interest and commitment to the arts.
