Range of Skills and Experience

Shelagh is the Managing Director of Greenwoods Solicitors LLP.

She is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's strategy, building on its acknowledged strengths and developing new areas of expertise.

Shelagh has specialised in Company Commercial Law for the past 15 years dealing with acquisitions, disposals, MBOs, joint ventures and commercial agreements of all kinds including consideration of European and competition law, protecting and exploiting intellectual property rights.

She has acted for a wide range of clients ranging from owner managed businesses to plcs and European companies in a range of corporate finance transactions, as well as establishing joint ventures in the UK, France and Germany. Shelagh jointly headed up an international consortium bid for one of the UK network television licences. Additionally, she sits as a director on the boards of two client companies as well as one of the regional boards set up by the Government.

Shelagh has spoken at conferences throughout the region, in London and in Europe, and run seminars on a variety of commercial topics including contract law, franchising, agency and distribution, expansion into Europe, the Competition Act 1998 and the Enterprise Act 2002.

Prior to becoming a lawyer Shelagh worked as a writer and theatre director and has maintained a strong interest in the arts and media.
