Clare Harris becomes a Fellow of the ALA

We are delighted to announce that Clare Harris, a Senior Solicitor in Greenwoods Private Client team, has become a Fellow of Agricultural Law Association (ALA).

Clare supports our clients with their personal affairs, such as wills and succession planning, from our Cambridge office and plays a key role in the Agriculture and Rural sector team at Greenwoods.

The ALA was founded in 1975 for top professionals serving rural businesses including lawyers, surveyors, accountants, bankers and farm business consultants. It is now the UK’s premier independent cross-disciplinary organisation with members including some of the leading practitioners in rural affairs in the UK and Europe.

The Fellowship of the ALA awards professionals who attend the advanced training course and pass a written examination – a badge of excellence as a way of distinguishing themselves as Fellows of the ALA.

Clare is also a member of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT). Her now vast knowledge and experience of
Agriculture gives her real insight into the issues affecting rural business owners.

Clare commented, “I am delighted to have completed all stages of the ALA’s education programme, leading ultimately to Fellowship. The Association promotes the understanding and development of the law and practice in agriculture. It brings together those serious about practising in those areas of law relevant to rural practice, from taxation to trusts and farming business structures, as well as property. It means that we can provide the comprehensive service across all of these areas that farming families require from their solicitor”.

Commenting on Clare’s achievement, Jeremy Stanton, Head of the Agriculture team at Greenwoods, said “This is an excellent result. Our team is growing and Agriculture is a very important sector for the firm. Clare’s accomplishment and the greater experience she brings will be of tangible benefit to our clients in the sector. It demonstrates our willingness to invest time and money into the development of our team alongside showing our commitment to the sector.”
