Solicitors for the Elderly

Associate solicitor Anna Turner has recently completed the Older Client Care in Practice Award and gained Associate membership of Solicitors for the Elderly (‘SFE’).  She is now working towards becoming a fully accredited member by completing the additional highly specialised qualification Older Client Law in Practice Award.

What is SFE

Solicitors for the Elderly is an independent, national organisation whose members provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.  All SFE Fully Accredited Members are fully qualified and regulated lawyers who have passed both the Older Client Care in Practice Award and the Older Client Law in Practice Award.

Why use a SFE member?

A SFE member provides independent, confidential advice which is in the best interests of their clients.  They advise individuals on planning for later life but also advise families on how they can take care of parents, relatives, vulnerable adults or children.  They ensure that advice is provided in an easy and understandable way that best suits the client’s needs.

What can they advise on?

A SFE member can advise on all aspects of law relevant to elderly clients, such as:

  • making a Will
  • Powers of Attorney
  • living wills
  • tax planning
  • asset preservation
  • trusts
  • probate
  • paying for care
  • NHS Continuing Care Funding
  • Court of Protection
