Senior Associate

Mark is an experienced employment solicitor advising contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

He supports clients on the full range of HR issues, including those arising during recruitment and when terminating employment and drafts and negotiates employment documentation. He advises on internal procedures, including disciplinaries and grievances, drafts employment documentation and helps resolve employment disputes. He also regularly advises on the employment law implications of corporate transactions and outsourcing projects involving TUPE.

Mark works closely with executives and HR managers to provide practical, commercial advice on day-to-day HR matters and strategic planning. He has particular experience in:

  • drafting employment and consultancy agreements;
  • advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants;
  • advising on discrimination and whistleblowing issues;
  • Helping to resolve disciplinary and grievance issues;
  • guiding clients through re-organisations including corporate restructures and redundancy issues;
  • advising on outsourcing arrangements and navigating the pitfalls of TUPE;
  • advising on terminations;
  • negotiating termination agreements;
  • and guiding clients in employment disputes, including tribunal claims which often involve whistleblowing or discrimination issues.

Working with international and domestic companies, firms, and executives, Mark’s clients are active in a range of sectors including real estate, finance, technology, construction and natural resources. He also provides client training and presents at seminars.
