Rosa Preston

Talent and Development Officer

Rosa supports team members of all levels to become great leaders.  She puts development at the heart of everything she does, providing individuals with opportunities to learn and equipping them with the tools they require to flourish and reach their career goals.

She is responsible for bringing in junior talent by means of training contracts and apprenticeships.  She nurtures individuals during the early stages of their careers, supporting them with their development through to senior partner level.

Rosa uses her expertise to offer creative solutions to break down barriers and optimise career success.

Rosa’s passion to support people has allowed her to enjoy a varied career, with the majority of her time focused on the HR sector and its specialisms.

With over 10 years’ experience in Early Years Talent and the recruitment of trainees, and in recent years a specialism within Learning and Development (L&D), she has a wealth of knowledge and experience to support the firm and its people with their growth. There is nothing she enjoys more than seeing the impact her role has on the progress of others.

Her technical knowledge ranges from the competence and qualification requirements of various legal bodies, through to the inner workings of the government apprenticeship scheme, allowing her to understand and find a variety of opportunities for new talent to join the profession and develop at the firm.

In addition, Rosa has a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Learning and Development which provides her with both theoretical and practical sector knowledge, enabling her to be an expert in her field and offer a rounded approach when considering L&D solutions and opportunities for team members.

In her L&D role she helps others reach their full potential by:

  • Fostering a culture of learning and development across the firm.
  • Providing 1-2-1 support to individuals help them identify and address their learning and development needs.
  • Curating useful learning content to share with others in the firm.
  • Encouraging knowledge sharing through our mentoring and skills exchange programmes, as well as technical updates.
  • Monitoring development programmes, initiatives, and individual development reviews to ensure continued relevancy of our offering and to identify further development needs.
  • Supporting senior management to achieve their strategic objectives and other departmental needs through tailored learning and development initiatives.

Rosa is a member of the CIPD and Learning in Law which keeps her abreast of industry changes. She also regularly meets with L&D professionals to gain best practice insight and new sector ideas allowing her to keep both her knowledge and skills up to date.
