Providing commercial and pragmatic advice to clients in Employment Law

Kirstie Staples

Associate

Kirstie joined Greenwoods in March 2023 as a newly qualified solicitor after qualifying in the first cohort of the SQE exams. Kirstie trained as a solicitor in an international firm and spent over 4 and a half years as a paralegal specialising in employment litigation.

Kirstie has a passion for employment law and is expanding her skillset to advise both employers and employees in on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Kirstie has recently been advising executives in negotiating their exit with their former employer and assisting with signing their settlement agreements.

Kirstie has acted for clients in the financial, technology, and public sectors and enjoys getting to know the clients’ goals and understand their business needs to ensure they receive the best advice. Her clients have included international and well-known names and she has worked closely with the HR and Legal teams from the outset of her legal career to ensure the best result is achieved for all.

Kirstie completed her law degree at Buckingham University and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course with BPP. She started working as an employment paralegal in 2018 and developed a passion for employment law.

Kirstie decided the training contract route was not for her and wanted to qualify as a solicitor using her experience she gained as a paralegal. The SQE was introduced while Kirstie was on maternity leave and she decided to qualify using this route.

Outside of work Kirstie enjoys spending time with her family and Siberian Husky going on adventures. She enjoys travelling and has been to America 3 times, Asia once, Africa 4 times and most countries within Europe.
