Develop a career that matches your

aspiration

It's about creating the ideal conditions for your success.

This means your contribution is valued, your opinion counts and your success is recognised, celebrated and rewarded. In short, we’ve created an environment within which you can thrive.

Our people are hard-working, commercial, ambitious and enthusiastic. We strive for excellence in everything we do and are committed to giving practical advice that helps improve our clients’ lives.

With ‘freedom’ as one of our core values, we encourage all our people to develop skills and specialisms that will take their career and the firm’s future forward.

What sets Greenwoods apart is the delivery of an excellent client experience because we are passionate about solving problems. You are encouraged to build strong client relationships and are given the time to do so, which ensures we understand every aspect of our client’s situation.

We maintain a real focus on work/life balance. As a result, we attract and retain exceptional team players who support each other to deliver brilliant outcomes.

A word from our Managing Partner

“Having joined Greenwoods as a trainee I’ve seen many changes, we’ve always been ambitious and have always had our sights set firmly on growth, not only the growth of the business, although we’ve certainly achieved that, but also the growth of everyone within it.

One of the most rewarding things about being Managing Partner is seeing people’s careers develop, seeing them confidently move to the next step against a context of transparency and openness around career progression.

We support people.  We provide autonomy, opportunity and flexibility – and you’ll be part of a peer support network across the firm that is second to none.

At Greenwoods you really can develop the career you aspire to. And we’ll be right by your side helping you to make that happen.”

Robert Dillarstone, Managing Partner

Building on your talent

Learning is essential to career development.

Our quarterly appraisal process offers dedicated time for you to focus on how your career is progressing. Together with your manager, you’ll develop your personal development plan – and importantly will receive support to keep it on track.

As you would expect, we offer a range of ways to learn, from formal training programmes and technical webinars, to group discussions and access to online resources. In addition, through our Mentoring and Skills Exchange programmes, we provide a host of opportunities for you to share your knowledge and learn from your talented colleagues.

Protecting your

wellbeing

We want everyone to feel happy and healthy at work, yet one in four of us will be experiencing a mental health problem at any one time.

On 20 July 2020, Rob Dillarstone, our Managing Partner, signed the Time to Change Employer Pledge on behalf of the firm. Alongside 1,500 other organisations, from all sectors, achieving the pledge demonstrates our commitment to implementing measures that change the way we think and act to support good mental health at every level of the firm.

Life in the law can be challenging.

Our Wellbeing Framework encompasses a range of initiatives to promote positive mental health and a healthy lifestyle.

We have implemented a wide range of mental health initiatives including a focus on healthy lifestyles and trained Mental Health First Aid champions on hand to provide support when you need it.

Diversity is part of who we are

Championing diversity, fairness and inclusion is central to our success as a firm. We believe we are better able to understand and meet the needs of our clients if our organisation reflects the businesses and individuals we serve.

We provide a workplace in which all staff are treated in a fair and consistent manner. We will ensure, to the best of our ability, that staff and all others who have contact with the firm are not discriminated against, either directly or indirectly.

We are committed to providing equality of opportunity, whether in recruitment and selection, promotion or training and development.

“Our Diversity, Fairness & Inclusion (DF&I) Forum translates our commitment into positive and practical actions. I’m proud to work together with Forum members to design and deliver initiatives to further strengthen our approach and model the behaviours that will lead to lasting change.”

Charlotte Davies, Chair of Greenwoods DF&I Forum

This initiative is a key part of the successful delivery of our business strategy and the implementation of our Respect value.  Our Forum will have a real and valuable impact across the firm and in our business dealings.  We involve and engage employees by listening and acting upon the issues which directly affect them in their place of work.

You can be part of that too.
