“My Wealth Preservation seat taught me a multitude of skills. I grew in confidence and learned how to guide clients through what can sometimes be a complex and distressing process. With careful guidance and support from the team, I discovered various effective ways of helping clients reduce the emotional stress associated with estate planning and administration. My supervisor was extremely supportive and always encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. I had day-to-day contact with clients and my workload included preparing bespoke wills and lasting powers of attorney, dealing with estate administration and obtaining the grant of probate, and assisting with Court of Protection applications.”

“I joined the Employment team for my final seat in March2020. Shortly afterwards, the Job Retention Scheme was created which involved furloughing employees. This was a completely new Employment law concept, the detail of which changed daily and sometimes hourly! I spent lots of time analysing the ever-changing guidance to help provide urgent advice to clients. Being immersed in this process was extremely hard work, but it was fantastic to be in a team where everyone pooled their knowledge to try to understand furloughing and how it might work in order to provide practical and timely advice for our clients.”

I have been involved in a myriad of different transactions, such as: share purchase deals, refinancing deals, and de-mergers – all of which comprise of a lot of documents to get the deals over the line. I enjoy the project management aspect of the deals, and ensuring that everyone is communicating with one another. I have drafted various commercial terms and conditions for businesses. I enjoy the aspect of thinking out of the box, and trying to think ‘ahead into the future’ to protect the client, by incorporating robust terms. The team are always supportive and available to answer any questions I have.”
