Sophie Askew

Sophie Askew loves her job.  But she also understands that clients only tend to come to her when things go wrong and they need guidance to get back on track.  Sophie will work closely with you to really understand what you need and will deliver practical advice to achieve this.  Often, there isn’t a “right answer” to HR issues – it depends on the people and the organisations involved.  Sophie will work hard to ensure she gets the right answer, for you.

Sophie joined Greenwoods as a Trainee in 2010 and qualified with the firm in 2012.  Since then, she has primarily worked with HR Teams and businesses advising on all aspects of employment law and employment litigation.

With over 10 years’ of experience working alongside clients in a range of sectors that include travel, construction, retail, charities and not for profits, recent work examples include advising on:

• Settlement arrangements and termination packages of directors and senior executives
• All aspects of large scale collective redundancy consultation exercises, including where proposals are made across a number of employing entities within a group structure
• Complaints of sexual harassments and connected investigation processes
• Corporate transactions including employment due diligence and complex TUPE issues

Sophie has been recognised by the Legal 500 as a “Rising Star” in the field of employment law, is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and, outside of work, she volunteers as a school governor.
