Richard Hughes

Richard works with the people who own, occupy and fund commercial property, and with the ones trying to build something on it. 

His clients include entrepreneurial businesses and investors, corporate occupiers and family offices, where relationships, responsiveness and trust are as important as technical expertise. His work spans a wide range of sectors including offices, hospitality and leisure, residential and mixed-use development and logistics. 

He also advises on electric vehicle charging, which is a real estate question before it is an energy one. 

Richard is known for providing clear, commercially focused advice and for getting clients through transactions efficiently, with integrity and confidence. 

Richard joined Greenwoods in September 2026 from Moore Barlow, where he was a Partner and Head of Commercial Property. 

He is married with two young sons. In his spare time he is a dad, a cook and a gardener, in roughly that order. He is also a school governor.
