One of the largest settlement offers in UK tax history
Our firm advised clients in relation to Eclipse Film Partners No 35 LLP [2016] UKSC 24 (Supreme Court), promoted by Future Capital Partners (FCP), which went into liquidation in 2018. HMRC claimed that the schemes were tax avoidance and took a test case (Eclipse 35 LLP) through the courts in a long-running case. This ultimately formed part of a settlement offer by HMRC in excess of £1.6bn, one of the largest in UK tax history.
