Eight of us. Ten kilometres. One very good cause.

Rebecca Towey, Jacqui Fowler, Laura Palmer, Sophie Askew, Emily Curtis-Bennett, Francesca Bonfield, Aimee Pearson and Anna Turner set off from Carey Street at 5pm, taking on the 10km Parks route past Somerset House, St James’s Park, Buckingham Palace, Green Park, Hyde Park and Trafalgar Square. They came back tired and happy. The weather behaved, London looked beautiful, and the walk turned out to be just enough time for a proper catch-up. The Street Party back at Carey Street – live music, food and a well-earned drink – rounded off the evening.

They walked alongside the Lady Chief Justice and thousands of others to raise money for the London Legal Support Trust, which funds free legal advice charities across London and the South East.

Legal help can feel like a given, until it isn’t. More than 14 million people in the UK live in poverty (Joseph Rowntree Foundation, 2026), and for many of them, a housing dispute, an immigration issue or a benefits problem becomes a crisis with no one to turn to. That’s why the LLST exists. Last year’s walk raised over £1 million, helping thousands of people get advice when they needed it most.
