We are excited to congratulate Eleni Nicolaou, Ewelina Kippen and Myles Shearman, who have qualified as solicitors after completing two years of recognised legal training with us.
Eleni joins our Disputes team and, when asked about her favourite seat, said: “Litigation, of course! It’s extremely interesting, and no case has been the same. I’ve worked on contentious and non-contentious matters, residential and commercial cases, and much more. The depth and technical knowledge required to excel in this field have been challenging but I’ve developed great skills as a result and I’m looking forward to using my knowledge to benefit our clients.”
When asked about his main takeaway from his experience of training with Greenwoods, Myles said: “It’s been a great experience training with Greenwoods, a rounded approach which has equipped me perfectly for my next step post-qualification.” Myles is thrilled to join our Real Estate team.
Ewelina joins our Wealth Preservation team and is looking forward to using the skills she has developed during her training contract. Her objective is to reduce the emotional stress often associated with estate planning, guiding clients through the sometimes complex process. She is particularly interested in drafting bespoke Wills and is looking forward to working with her clients to deliver this tailored service.
Over the past two years, each trainee has worked hard exploring a number of different areas of law while receiving support from our “technically brilliant but down-to-earth and friendly teams”, as Myles described them. Having now qualified, here is their advice for future trainees:
Myles: “Take the initiative and really take every opportunity to get involved in a matter, this is how you build your experience and learn.”
Ewelina: “Never say never! When I learned that my second seat would be in Real Estate, I was quite disheartened because I had no interest in this area. However, to my great surprise, I enjoyed this seat more than I had anticipated and it was the most memorable seat of my training contract. My advice to any future trainee is to try as many different areas of law as possible because you might just surprise yourself.”
Eleni: “Be visible and eager to learn and Greenwoods will invest in you and your development.”
We are always on the lookout for new talent to join us. If you’d like to build your career in a law firm far from identikit, check out our join us pages and get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
