Adam Blackwell has officially qualified as a solicitor! As he steps into his new role as an Associate in the Real Estate team, we invite you to get to know Adam as we have.
His journey with us began in October 2022 as a Paralegal, before going on to secure a training contract in September 2023. Now with qualification under his belt, he’s stepping into the next chapter of his career in Real Estate.
So, who is Adam beyond the shiny new title? Without further ado, we pass the spotlight to him:
What was your favourite seat and why?
My favourite seat was Real Estate. It gave me the opportunity to have a hands-on approach with clients as well as expand my networking abilities and the team are pros at both.
What made you want to qualify into Real Estate?
I wanted to join Real Estate because I really enjoyed the “behind the transaction” details – understanding why people needed the things they were asking for, helping small businesses set up their first brick-and-mortar store to enable them to be their own boss, as well as the mixture of long projects and fast-paced urgent leases.
What is your main takeaway from your trainee experience?
My main takeaway from my trainee experience is the importance of building client relationships early. Having seen the work Alex has introduced from networking or from his early career, it shows a clear pattern that the earlier you focus on these relationships and what the client really wants, the more loyalty they will show you down the road.
What is one piece of advice you would give to any trainees?
Ask as many questions as possible and don’t be afraid to think they’re stupid questions. There were times where I didn’t ask the questions that I should have earlier, and I would have learned the important things a lot sooner if I had.
Alex Hutchings, Partner and Head of Real Estate said:
“I believe that growing our own talent is incredibly important as we continue to scale the Real Estate team at Greenwoods, and I am pleased that Adam has joined us at this point in our growth journey. Adam became an integral part of the team during his seat, and I look forward to building on that.”
