Complex disputes. Strategic thinker. Effective results.

Tom Christie

Managing Associate, Disputes

Tom is a seasoned litigator with over a decade of experience resolving complex commercial disputes. Dual-qualified as a solicitor and having been called to the Bar, he brings a rare depth of insight to contentious matters, having acted in high-value litigation and arbitration across a range of sectors including energy, finance, property, and professional services. Tom enjoys using his skillset to solve his clients’ problems to ensure their objectives are met and then surpassed.

Tom’s practice spans shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence claims, and multi-jurisdictional litigation. He has particular expertise in costs law and budgeting, ensuring strategic and cost-efficient outcomes for clients at every stage of the dispute process. His recent work includes leading roles in LCIA arbitrations involving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, a 42-day High Court trial concerning unfair prejudice claims (Alam v Alam & Anor [2023] EWHC 1460 (Ch) (15 June 2023)), and a group litigation matter against a global oil company.

Clients value Tom’s ability to distil complexity into clarity, his collaborative approach, and his commitment to delivering bespoke solutions. He is a strong advocate for alternative dispute resolution and is known for his calm, pragmatic style – especially in high-pressure environments.

Tom joined Greenwoods in August 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a reputation for excellence. He is based in our London office.

Outside of work, Tom swaps legal briefs for LEGO bricks, where the only conflict is deciding which set to build next! He also unwinds with video games that challenge his problem-solving skills in a slightly different arena. Tom has long been captivated by the sci-fi and fantasy genre, and his shelves are stacked with graphic novels that span galaxies and magical realms. That love of fantasy even shaped his honeymoon, which included a visit to Hobbiton in New Zealand!
