International Women’s Day is a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go. That’s why we’re committed to making progress, not just on 8 March but all year long.
Last week, we celebrated International Women’s Day as a firm with a panel discussion and afternoon tea featuring Caroline White-Robinson, Pippa Sturt and Francesca Jus-Burke who shared their experiences, insights, and hopes for the future. The event sparked meaningful conversations and reminded us why continued progress towards equality matters.
On International Women’s Day itself, which fell on Saturday this year, team Greenwoods laced up for a 5km fundraising event hosted in London by the Women’s Run Series in support of Centrepoint, our charity of the year. The team included: Sam Freeman, Caroline Robinson-White, Mel White, Eleni Nicolaou, Fiona Marshall and Angela Kusznir. They raised a whopping £470, thank you.
We also showed our IWD support by sponsoring Murray Edwards and Diversity UK’s “Investing in Women Founders: Addressing Global Health Inequalities” event on 12 March, which featured medtech showcases by women founders. We were also proud that Francesca Jus Burke from our Corporate & Commercial team serves as a trustee of Diversity UK, evidence of our staff’s dedication to driving meaningful change.
Although not directly linked to International Women’s Day, Claire Banks, also from our Corporate & Commercial team, will be speaking at an upcoming Metro Bank event, “Navigating Economic Shifts: A Business Perspective”, on 25 March which also includes Jacqui Kavanagh, Business Owner & Entrepreneur in the line-up, which we hope shows our ongoing commitment to supporting women’s leadership all year round.
We know there’s always more to do, but we’re dedicated to the journey, because creating a workplace where women thrive makes us a better, stronger team.
Here’s to all the women making an impact, and to everyone working towards a more equal future. Let’s keep going.
