London International Disputes Week 2025 - Event Report

2-6 June 2025 marked London International Disputes Week 2025 (“LIDW25). It was an amazing week of events looking at key issues and trends across the international commercial disputes community.  The central theme for LIDW25 this year was “innovation in dispute resolution: navigating global risks”.

The events were buzzing with a combination of networking opportunities which saw:

Several of the team, including Huw Wallis, Russell Strong, Euan Palmer, Jamie McConnell, Sara Roden, Lucy Baughan, Sam Baxter and Eleni Nicolaou also attended various panel sessions throughout the week discussing insightful and thought-provoking topics such as:

  1. Fraud 2050: peering into the crystal ball of tomorrow’s threats.
  2. Hot topics in the world of banking disputes.
  3. AI in Document Review: Best Practices and Lessons Learned.
  4. Celebrating 50 years of freezing injunctions – are they the golden ticket in asset recovery?
  5. Making arbitration faster, stronger, better – what can London learn from the SIAC rules 2025?

Sara Roden particularly enjoyed the reference to Calvin and Hobbes cartoon when attending a panel discussion about the regulation of AI in international arbitration hosted by Gatehouse Chambers. A key takeaway for Sara? We all really need to get to grips with AI. You can read Sara’s post with a photo of the cartoon in question here.

For our clients, it was an opportunity for the team to understand more about emerging trends, share knowledge and learn from the experience of other countries.

It was also an excellent and welcomed opportunity to take time away from our desks to reconnect with key contacts from our referral network in person, especially those who had travelled from overseas especially for the event.

Roll on LIDW26!
