Greenwoods has appointed two Senior Associates to its Disputes team, Amy Thomas and Zara Bhakri, following the recent arrival of further Partner, Adam Short. Both joined in June 2026, as the practice continues to grow.
Building depthAmy and Zara bring significant experience in complex commercial litigation. As Senior Associates, they will be central to the day-to-day conduct of matters, working closely with clients and partners to reach clear, commercial outcomes.
Their experience spans the full lifecycle of a dispute, from pre-action strategy through to trial and settlement, including high-value and multi-party work.
Commenting on the appointments, Head of Disputes, Huw Wallis said: “These are two excellent hires for our Disputes team. Amy and Zara both bring strong technical ability, clear judgement and a commercial approach to litigation. Senior Associates drive matters forward day to day and are central to any successful Disputes practice. Amy and Zara will play a key role as we grow.”
Their arrival follows the appointment of Adam Short, part of a deliberate effort to build a Disputes team with strength at every level. Read more about Adam’s arrival here.
Amy and Zara join as part of the firm’s wider focus on developing and retaining female lawyers.
Kirstie Goulder, Disputes BD Manager, who led the firm’s International Women’s Day Disputes event earlier this year said: “Bringing in two female litigators of Amy and Zara’s calibre is great for the team. Supporting female talent is a clear focus for us, and it’s good to see that reflected in the practice’s growth. Like Adam, they bring new client relationships, energy and ideas – which is genuinely exciting as we develop the team and our offering.” The event explored how to better support, retain and progress female lawyers.
