Greenwoods has further strengthened its Disputes practice with the appointment of Simon Boschat as Managing Associate, enhancing the team’s capability in complex commercial disputes, shareholder litigation and civil fraud matters.
Simon joins from Hill Dickinson, bringing almost a decade of experience advising businesses, shareholders, directors and private individuals on complex commercial disputes. His practice spans High Court litigation, international arbitration and multi-party disputes, with particular expertise in shareholder disputes, civil fraud, contractual claims and professional negligence.
Simon’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires within Greenwoods’ Disputes team, including Partner Adam Short and Senior Associates Amy Thomas and Zara Bhakri.
Greenwoods has developed a strong reputation for advising on complex, high-value and business-critical disputes where technical expertise, commercial judgement and responsiveness are essential. The team is regularly instructed through referrals from leading law firms, professional advisers and longstanding client relationships, particularly where conflicts, capacity constraints or other considerations prevent firms from acting directly.
Simon’s experience aligns closely with this increasingly significant part of the practice. During his career he has advised on substantial shareholder disputes, fraud claims, contentious commercial matters and cross-border proceedings, helping clients navigate complex issues with a strategic and commercially focused approach.
Prior to joining Greenwoods, Simon was a Senior Associate at Hill Dickinson and previously practised at Teacher Stern, where he developed a broad commercial disputes practice. Before qualifying as a solicitor, he worked within the financial services sector at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, providing him with valuable commercial insight into the business realities that frequently underpin disputes.
Simon Boschat said:
“What attracted me to Greenwoods was the quality of the work and the way the team approaches client relationships. The firm has developed a strong reputation for handling complex disputes while maintaining a highly commercial and partner-led approach. I’m excited to join such an ambitious team and to play a part in its next phase of growth.“
Huw Wallis, Head of Disputes, said:
“Simon is an excellent addition to the team. He brings significant experience across a broad range of commercial disputes and further strengthens our ability to support clients facing complex and high-stakes situations.
Increasingly, we are instructed on matters referred by leading law firms and trusted advisers who need a team with the technical expertise, commercial judgement and responsiveness to take on important work. Simon’s appointment reinforces our ability to meet that demand and reflects the continued growth of our disputes practice.”
