Two arrivals, two promotions

What they do 

Amalie acts on acquisitions and sales of freehold and leasehold property, lease extensions, and work for overseas investors and trust companies. She advises banks and institutional lenders on secured lending, and works with offshore corporate structures. Recent matters include a £46M re-mortgage, a portfolio restructuring for a trust company, and completing ten flats in a single day for a developer. 

She is Danish, and a significant part of her practice is Scandinavian clients buying and selling in the UK – who tend to appreciate having English conveyancing explained to them in their own language. Chambers High Net Worth notes her work on high-value conveyancing for international clients. 

Poornima has over twenty years in residential property, most of it in central London. She advises private individuals, developers, overseas investors and companies across the full range of transactional work, including off-plan purchases, and acts for private and international banks on secured lending. She is a new addition to the Spear’s Property Index 2025, which recognised her for reaching successful outcomes in difficult circumstances. 

A growing team 

Greenwoods is already very highly regarded in this part of the market. The residential team is ranked by Legal 500 and Spear’s, and is known for handling high-value, complex transactions for high net worth individuals and offshore trusts. 

Will Thomas leads the team, with almost fifteen years in residential property across London and Cambridge. His work covers sales and purchases, easements, covenants, first registrations and de-enveloping property held in offshore corporate bodies – recently the sale of an £18m town house for a non-resident individual to an offshore trust, coordinating onshore and offshore lawyers, architects, trustees and corporate officers, in a matter of weeks. 

Managing Associate Michael Taylor has specialised in residential property for almost a decade, with particular expertise in ultra high net worth private clients. He is known for being pragmatic, quick, and for the breadth and depth of what he knows. 

Senior Associate James Gostling has spent his whole career in residential property, and joined Greenwoods from the Middle Eastern team of one of London’s leading residential practices, acting for ultra high net worth individuals and overseas SPVs at the very top of the prime central London market. 

We work across our offices as one firm, so a client in Cambridge gets the same team as a client in London, and the other way round.
